The best time of day to practice is the time of day that works best for your schedule.
How long should I practice Tai Chi?
You should practice Tai Chi at least once everyday. How long depends on your schedule. I practice Chen and Yang Tai Chi forms daily. I mindfully practice once through each form daily. Once you begin practicing Tai Chi you will find that you will bring Tai Chi principles into all your daily activities. Tai Chi practice is a way of life.
Can I learn Tai Chi online?
It is my honest opinion that Tai Chi is best learned in person from a reputable teacher. If you have no in person classes in your area then online Tai Chi should be a last resort.

Which is better for you Tai Chi or Qigong?
Tai Chi is a form of moving Qigong. Both Tai chi and Qigong will give you similar health benefits.
Do I need to learn Tai Chi as a self defense?
You do need to understand the self defense applications for each movement. In my opinion it is essential to gather the positive energy from the earth let the energy pass through you unimpeded and release it. Then borrow the positive energy that surrounds you and release it unimpeded into the earth.

Can I listen to music while practicing Tai Chi?
Yes I listen to relaxing music all the time when practicing my Yang Tai Chi form. It puts me in a great relaxed state of mind. Even though Tai Chi is an internal art you should always be aware of your surroundings.
What kind of Tai Chi shoes should I wear?
I mostly wear my comfortable sneakers when practicing Tai Chi. What you wear when practicing Tai Chi should be determined by the texture of the floor you are practicing on. Check out my blog post on choosing the best Tai Chi shoes here.
What type of clothes or uniform do I wear when practicing Tai Chi?
The clothes you wear when practicing Tai Chi should be loose. It is my opinion that tight clothes when practicing Tai Chi or Qigong block the flow of chi.
Can you practice Tai Chi all day long?
Tai Chi brings balance into your every day lifestyle. It can be practiced all day long from the moment you wake up until you close your eyes to go to sleep at night. This can be done through being more mindful in your daily tasks. Balancing your thoughts, fixing your posture throughout the day, Relaxing tension, moving from your center, reacting in a relaxed way to what you perceive as negative thoughts or response to another's actions, or be more mindful with your breathing.
Can I lift weights and learn Tai Chi?
From my experience yes! I feel strength training combined with Tai Chi is one of life's gifts to better health and longevity.
