This morning I woke up early and drove about an hour and a half from Long Island to Columbus park Chinatown in Manhattan. My intention was to take photos of people who gather each morning to practice Tai Chi in the Park. I wanted to share these photos on my website. Traffic was clear today on the Long Island expressway so I arrived on time just before 7 AM. When I arrived there was plenty of metered parking on Mott St. I put money in the parking meter and parked my car. I took a short walk up Mosco St....

Back in March of 2015, on the first day in early spring when the sun actually warmed the air, I took a drive to Robert Moses State Park on Long Island. I wanted to video myself practicing the Yang Tai Chi Short Form (William C.C. Chen Sequence). The camera I used to record my form was a Rebel t3i on a tripod. So why not find out more? For six months, I worked a 12-hour night shift in Manhattan (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) for Quad Graphics, an American printing company. During this time, I photo retouched images used in popular...

I took a ride from Long Island this morning to visit my cousins who live in Brooklyn NY. My cousins live very close to Owl's Head Park in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Since the weather was so nice today I thought it would be cool if my cousin took a video of me practicing the Yang Tai Chi 37 short form in the park. Owl's Head Park is so close to my cousin's house I thought it would be a great setting for the video so we took a short walkover. The Tai Chi form I practice is the William C.C....

Practicing the Tai Chi outside is really good Tai Chi training to keep you in your center. When I first started practicing Tai Chi outdoors I was a little self-conscious. So many thoughts would be racing through my mind. What would others think? Often I am in the midst of the Tai Chi form when I notice someone in the distance observing me. What if I forget the next move? What if I stumble and don’t have perfect balance? Someone might think I don’t know what I am doing. So many thoughts go through my head. I am no longer able...
